To create a note, click the **New Note** button with the plus (+) symbol. Alternatively, create a new note using the CMD + C [keyboard shortcut](https://recollect.fyi/support/managing-notes/how-to-use-short-cuts-hotkeys/) (hotkey).

The first line of the note is used for the note title. The remainder of the note is the body, which can be formatted using the toolbar options or [Markdown](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown). Recollect will automatically format the text as you type if you use Markdown.
